This project entailed the creation of a magazine to explore and exercise typography practices. The magazine would be twelve pages long, including a cover and back cover. Advertisements would be included.
With this being my potentially last design project in college, I wanted to make this a personal one. I wanted to indirectly discuss my online influences in the various articles in the magazine, with an easy-to-read but visually interesting layout. I would take a Swiss approach for its simple typography and use of basic shapes to highlight parts of the magazine. Vertical use of text would subtly tie the magazine together.
With the magazine covering topics that were specific to me, I chose to write all of the articles. This began early before the design process started, and while it took a lot of time and proofreading, I’m glad I did it myself. I wish I wrote more, but in the interest of time, I had to limit myself.
